The market is full of specialised cutting optimisers, mostly produced by saw manufacturers, and mostly working only on their own saw. The option of integration with other software is limited if not impossible.

ARDIS is available in modules from very simple calculation tools for manual processes - typically with sliding table panel saws, to complex systems offering the option of sequential labelling, optimising against different criteria - waste, time, costs, etc. stock control and off-cut management.
The WOPS (Workcentre Oriented Production System) modules also include the concept of parametric cabinets rather then single components and the parametric manipulation of CNC programs. This is very interesting for kitchen manufacturers producing not genuinely bespoke furniture, but variations of types of cabinets.
The open architecture gives a lot of scope to link ARDIS into other software tools. The links into 3D-Generator and Pytha are a proven standard, but there are many more options available. |
