Critical to any pressing process be it veneers or foils is the removal of any contamination from the surface of the panel.

As machine technology has improved particularly in the pressing of foils so the improved definition of the finished product is more likely to show defects or particulate trapped behind the foil. This situation can be aggravated by the sanding of the panels after machining or the denibbing of the cured glue.

Cleaning brushes

The best solution is to use a cleaning machine as the use of an airline apart from being potentially hazardous can easily leave particles on the panel or simply move them around.

FLAT PANELS - Osama SP/RSI

This simple but effective brushing machine works on the full width of the panel to dislodge particles before removing them through the dust extraction system. Due to the mechanical action of the brushes even compacted dust will be dislodged from the panel surface. The machine cleans both the upper and lower face of the workpiece to ensure that contamination is not carried into the press on the bottom of the panel. The bottom brush has a fixed working height with the top brush adjustable together with the feed roller to accommodate varying thicknesses. An inverter controls the feed speed to enable the machine to be synchronised with the speed of the glue roller.

SHAPED PANELS – Rapha RPC 1300

Whilst similar to the conventional panel cleaning machine for flat panels working with upper and lower brushes this machine has been specifically developed for shaped and foil coated products. The machine is equipped with a specially designed turbo dust nozzle system as well as horse hair brushes, to ensure that dust and machining residue is removed from the bottom of machined profiles. In addition, the provision of a de-ionisation system helps discharge the build up of static electricity which not only causes dust to stick to the panel but also attracts particles from the surrounding atmosphere.
