The CE23N abrasive planer can be used for a wide range of applications. For example sanding and shaving with a perfect finish, even on delicate or brittle materials that may be damaged or splintered when a conventional hand planer is used, such as in the case when working against the grain on woods or on edges of laminated boards.
It can also be used on resins with fibreglass, carbon fibre and Kevlar, where the blades of conventional planers are ineffective.

A useful application is the sanding of surfaces with several materials of different hardness in layers, which enables a uniform sanding that will not damage soft materials. Sanding proves to be effective on a wide array of materials, whether hard, soft or flexible. These abrasive planers are highly useful, fast and effective in sanding and stripping paints, varnishes and resins, particularly on large flat surfaces.
Unlike conventional planers, the sanding depth of the abrasive planers does not depend on the pressure applied by the operator, but on the adjustment of the machine and the number of passes made. Wear on the abrasive roller is minimal, thanks to the high operating speed, the extremely low amount of material extracted by each abrasive grain and the fact that it hardly heats up at all during operation.
The CE23N model has a rigid base while the CE123N model has an adjustable curved base, for concave, convex and flat surfaces. Both models are equipped with a nozzle for connecting an external dust collector.
